So if Cold Fire is two elements: then in PvP Ice or Fire alone will always be efficient against it. Because it will always be true that the 'at least one' requirement was satisfied. It is difficult to imagine that Vlaada intended Cold Fire to be weaker that way in PvP. For the sake of a +1 enhancement to Tovak's Cold Toughness.

I've already covered that in Re: Cold Fire - forensic analysis (long). You compare your block to one attack out of many different attacks, not one slice of a single attack.

To give another example, if the attack consists of 3 Cold Fire and 2 Ice, then Fire Block 5 is efficient because it counters the Ice attack and will reduce the damage by 2 in the range/siege phase or 5 in the melee phase; while Ice Block 5 is inefficient because it's not effective against Ice and it's not effective against Cold Fire, so it will only reduce the damage by 1 in the range/siege phase or 2 in the melee phase. But if the attacker also played a card sideways to add 1 physical attack, then the Ice Block would be fully efficient because it's efficient against physical.

Completely different than normal combat, because normally you only block one attack at a time and normally you block all or nothing.
