Does this amount of enemies mean that effects like banner of fear (stronger effect), Earthquake, Flame wall, mass expose,... become even more important than when you assault cities? somehow hoped that this would not be the case. (At moment I often think that having those effects at hand make a really tough city a cakewalk. Sometimes I think no effect should be allowd to effect more than 3 enemies at once.)

Banner of Fear got reballanced in the expansion, so did Wing of Night spell so they're not ovepowered against huge armies anymore.

One of the new enemy token ability is Arkane Imunity. The enemy is not affected by any non-Attack/Block effects. Effects that directly affect enemy attacks still apply. Also Elusive ability will make you think twice before using some cards against enemy tokens with it (thought I'm not gonna spoil this one, wait for Paul's sneak previews :))

Trust me, there's nothing cakewalky about Volkare and his army, no matter how strong your hand is. Which doesn't mean some cards would be a must have though, I've played several games with no such crowd managing cards and it was doable. Very tough but doable. It also depends on the difficulty level you're playing. I was mentioning Legendary (the highest) one.
