Hi

I encountered an enemy with Arcane Immunity while I had "Banner of Fear" Lost Legion Artifact 2
The text on my version of this card is:

"Assign this to a unit you control. During the Block phase of combat, you may spend this unit to cancel one _enemy attack_. If you do, Fame +1"

If I read rules p.6: "..... While the enemy itself is protected, its attacks are not. If an effect reduces an enemy attack or affects it in any other way , it can also be used against the attack of an enemy with Arcane immunity"

Medhu

This is the proper interpretation. Banner of Fear's basic ability, like other effects that cancel an enemy attack, are effective against enemies with Arcane Immunity. However, other effects, like that of the Illusionist, Chill, Amotep Freezers, or Whirlwind, are not effective against Arcane Immune enemies since they target the enemy itself, and not its attack(s).

However, the stronger effect of the Banner does not affect enemies with Arcane Immunity, since the effect impacts the enemy and not the enemy's attack.

Quotes from the rulebook :
Then, you have to pay 2, 4 or 6 Move points.

The amount of Move points you spend determines what your
reward will be. If you pay less than 2 Move points, you failed to
enter the site – nothing happens.

If you win, you get a reward according to how many Move
points you spent: see the Site Description card.

Site description card wrote:

Choosing path: Pay 2, 4, or 6 Move. (Move points left from the Move phase cannot be used for his).

It seems one can't chose to have a "lower" reward than what was paid.
Example : if "mist form" (spell, move 4) is played, or powered concentration or maximal effect with any move card.
It seldom happens but one may prefer choosing two crystals over a spell or having a nice spell over an artifact.

I'm not sure that was the intent.
Thoughts ?

The key point is that you have to pay 2,4 or 6 move points. You may generate 4 points, for instance, pay 2, and save the other 2 points for later (and convert them to attack points through agility, for instance).

If you paid 4 move points, you can't chose the 2points reward after seeing the enemy.

Thanks for pointing that out.

This decision must be made before revealing the enemy, though: If you paid 4 move points, you can't chose the 2 points reward after seeing the enemy.

Rule nick picking, I believe In Lost Legion movement points generate in the movement phase doesn't carry over to the combat phase.

That's very true.
However, generating points inside a labyrinth is not part of the movement phase, and thus transfer to the combat.
I'm pretty sure I've it seen stated somewhere, but I can't recall where.

You cannot use unused Move points from the movement part of your turn, you have (and are allowed) to play separate Move effects. See Detailed Game Concepts to learn more about playing Move effects at times other than the movement phase.

Lost Legion rules, p. 9 wrote:

• Move points and Influence points provided by played effects are stored, and can be freely spent for various purposes.
• Unspent Move points and Influence points from previous phases of your turn are lost at the moment when you start your action phase of the turn. Also, unspent points from any phase are lost at the end of your turn.

Then you play the basic effect of Agility, for a total of 7 Move points. You spend 6 of them to choose the longest path through the Maze. Later, when fighting the enemy, you play a card sideway as Move 2 (the bonus still applies), and convert all your remaining Move points for Attack 3.

So is this saying that you cannot generate lets say four move points, spend two to get to the maze and then spend the other two for the crystal path?

There it was ! thanks Trevin.

Indeed you cannot !
Neither influence nor move do transfer from the movement phase to action phase.
Same goes for healing.

Healing points resets when starting a combat phase, but they do transfer to other phases. You can play refreshing walk for 2 move points and 1 heal, move to a village, interact there and get a healing point, and then use both points (the one from the movement phase and the one from interaction) to heal a 2-level unit.

That's right. You have to 'start over' when you get to the part where you pay for a path.

Alright, so i FINALLY bought the expansion of my favorite game.
Today's victory:

Volkare's Return, my second try.
Heroic/Fair with Arythea: 219 points!

Truly proud due to it being my second
attempt. Had the best first day ever with an Altar, two Orcs and a Mage Tower.

Ended up with a combination of Altem Mages, Amulet of Darkness and a sacrificed Bow of Stardust... Overkill combo. Could easily have taken a Volkare in Legendary. Got an extra Swamp Dragon just for fun (but not sure whether you can invite them to a battle with Volkare in the city though).

Closing up on my MK-max of 237.

But I am surprised about the speed - so far, the city tile has shown up on the 2nd night. Is it because I play rounds too long perhaps (since there is no dummy player to hold me down)?

Bit of mixed feelings on Familiars though. Handy, but they cost, crystal-wise.
But the new enemies - damn! I am in love.

World's best game just got bestier.

Sure, the name is Determination and the stats are:
1. Attack or block 2
2. Block 5

It's a blue card

Well, such situation just happened in one of my games. I've read this thread carefully and I'd be supporting the view that the summoner and his creature are two different enemies.

I am aware that MK rules system is particularly nourishing for the "rule judge" attitude, still, as it seem to fail to produce an unambiguous explanation, I'd employ another method of thinking.

Let's take for example, duelling: I block an old orc crone fighting me with his stick and in a second I'm facing a hydra, who knows nothing about my superior fencing skills, as it's simply not the creature I blocked moments ago.
Same with Ice Shield - the frozen guy is slowed, but his friend from netherland is not. Besides, Ice Shield advanced effect's wording is clear enough in that matter.

Let's setup a new PBF.

The following people have mentionned some interest

[user=delewobmesid]
[user=eddd]
[user=Bobthesnake]

I'm willing to moderate up to 4 players. So we still have 1 spot available. but ..[user=Beiren] mentionned interested if we're doing a co-op game.. Which i'm fine with.

If you've never did a [pbf] Play by Forum. then i suggest reading the following post.
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/16693303

I will geekmail you guys the cards and I will use Vassal to keep track of everything.

Now what games do you guys want to play?

I assume co-operative, what scenario
- Basic (any of the basic)
- Lost Legion (vs volklare)
- Shades of Tesla (everybody familiar enough to play it?)

What optional rule do you guys want to play.

I'm not difficult

ps: if you do something that's illegal (miss a mana or a rule) and you've reveal something and it's caught on fast enough. A redo will be done automaticly.
